Commercial Description:
Toasty red in color, this is our Extra Special Bitter. It's round, rich flavor is balanced by a subtle bitterness and a fragrant hop finish. A unique blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases gives this beer a smoother, more flavorful palette and a creamy rich head without the strong bite associated with highly carbonated beers.

Light amber color. Medium to large sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty and sweet. A medium bodied ESB. Malts are fruity and sweet. Slightly bitter hops. This is more of a mild or a bitter than an ESB. Nice smooth taste, Sweet finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap @ Thirsty Bear poured a clear dark amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and a hint of citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, earthiness, toffee and carmel with a smooth lightly bitter finish.

On tap at the brewpub in downtown San Francisco. Nice, active nitro pour - which I love - dark golden in color, good, thick lacing. Excellent, subtle bitterness in the flavor with some citrus notes and a bit of maple syrup. Good session material. Thick creamy mouthfeel. One of my choices for a pint from the sampler

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear amber color. The head was thick, khaki, and left some clingy lace behind. Smelled of light flowery hops and a hint of toffee. Light to medium bodied and dry. Lots of earthy flavors including wet stone and woody tree bark. There was also a bit of perfumy hops. Dry finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Orange in color with an off-white head. Good head, but no aroma. Nice malty and hoppy balance to the flavor. Great money forms on the head. Super thick lacing. Strong up-front sweetness of berries. Seems to have a quick finish for such a heavy beer.

Draft. Copper color with a smooth white head. Light bodies beer with caramel aroma and caramel malt flavor. Just a bit of spice to it, but not much.

Part of a tasting tray sampler at the brewpub. Deep orange amber. Fruity hops and toasty malts (bananas, berries), earthy tones, moderately bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel.

A great beer, maybe the favorite from this brewery. Smooth and rich, clean and crisp. Hops and malts well balanced, just a damn good beer in anyones book.
