Commercial Description:
A robust porter, dark brown in color and full-bodied with a malty sweet taste. Deep roasted, yet silky-smooth! Two types of roasted malts, including deep-roasted chocolate malt are used to give this porter a rich, chocolately taste.

Bottle. Pours a brune body with a tan head. Chocolate and coffee tones, roasted malt, with some mineral notes and a light bittersweet finish. Decent session porter.

Bottle. Pours a blackish red with a thin tan head and nice lacing. Nice malty coffee aroma with hints of roasted grain. Smooth sweet malt taste with a nice balance of coffee bitterness and hints of smoke.

The color of the liquor is a paler porter than many--a ruby brown. It appears very clear. Modest head but it leaves a classic "British" style head. Sweet, caramel candy aroma with a dash of semi-sweet chocolate tossed in for good measure. Other than the slightly thin body, this is a superior porter. First surprise is that the beer is quite dry. The swallow features a hop bitterness, but the aftertaste is dark chocolate. Wonderfully complex. I note the alcohol level. Even though it is low, it’s more than most porters. Overall, it is an easy-to-drink and flavorful beer.

Bottle at the Bloomington Beer Festival. Poured a full brown with a light brown head. Aroma had a combination of malty and coffee notes. Flavor was nice with sweet malts balancing nicely with a roasted coffee flavor.

Donated by Thirsty Dog to ALS Beer Dinner Benefit. Pours a dark black with a dark ruby background and a nice tan head. Roasted aroma from the get go, chocolates in the flavor with a bit of espresso in there too.

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Mild roastiness in the aroma along with a nice and rich chocolate and cream note. Flavor is roasted and burnt malts at the start with a bitter coffee and chocolate middle. Some hints of dark fruits come in through the end with a nicely roasted and bitter finish. Creamy and really smooth.

Beer Rep! Kind of rust color through the black instead of black. I don’t like that.Smells better. Nice and malty, chocolatey, nutty, molasses. Light but very nice. It tastes good and is accessible. Sort of thin for 5.7%. Not best porter, a little sour and blah but OK.
