Black color, with a creamy cap. Strong aroma of roasted malts, with maybe too much phenol. Thick mouthfeel, oily, with a good mix of malt, caramel and strong roasted malt in the beginning; the roasted malt brings in a light sour touch, and helps limiting the oily feeling; the malt keeps supports the body strength and sweetness till the end (rare in Imperial Stouts, but appreciated); maybe the metallic touch at the end is a bit too evident. Very solid, but with some flaws that maybe will soften with some cellaring..

Aug 29, 2008 22oz bottle. Thanks a lot DSG. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head. Nose is roasted - coffee & chocolate. Full bodied. Mega smooth & silky palate. Well balanced. Slightly vinous. Great!

Pours completely black with a great, creamy, beige cappucino head. Aroma has some oak, lots of coffee, good chocolate, viniousness and raisins. Creamy and quite surprisingly, very dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very vinious, but never turns alcoholic, lots of oaky presence along with the good coffee and a well-balanced hoppiness in the finish. Star of the show.

Aug 20, 2008 Bottle 08.’ Black pour with a thick crema head. Nose is coffee, chocolate, malts, and all that you want in abig Imperial Stout. Flavor is much the same with some warmth and appropriate bitterness. Big bosy and well balanced.

Aug 18, 2008 Pours absolutely pitch black with a huge mocha head that won’t go away. This one looks great. Smells strongly of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, bitter roast, and cream. Taste is similar with a huge roast/chocolate/coffee flavor and a nice hop/bitter roast finish. Really smooth and easy to drink. Not much sign of the alcohol. A great, underdog RIS.

Aug 15, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a solid black with a small head. Chocolate and coffee aromas were huge, with a little alcohol too. Lacing was above average. Flavor was sweet malt with some chocolate and a little warming alcohol on the end. Creamy mouthfeel with soft but adequate carbonation.
