Jan 16, 2005 A pitch black beer with an extremely fast disappearing brown head. The aroma is of alcohol, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor is sweet and very roasted to start off and then with notes of roasted coffee beans and a little dark bitter chocolate. The end is dry roasty with notes of coffee.

Jun 19, 2003 Bottled from growler, thanks hopsrus! Extremely black with minimal near black head. Rich chocolate aroma. Extremely malty with thick mouthfeel and overpowering flavour of tar and salty licorice. Soft, yet firm maltiness. Very tasty, no doubt, but bigger isn't always better...

Dec 24, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours black and opaque with a handsome, dense light brown head. Sweetish, roasted malt aroma. Medium body with plenty of sweet, roasted malt and a soft, lightly burned edge. Not much bitterness really. Lovely indeed, but far from outstanding and not really Top 50 material. 191206

Jul 7, 2003 Black w/ dark brown head. Aroma is coffeeish, with long maltiness and almond skins. Fairly astringent coffee taste...lots of beany note. Sweet body, but dry alcoholic finish. Absolutely annihilated by the Dark Lord with whom I tasted this side by side.
