Pours opaque black with brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and a hint of smoke. Taste is same, but much stronger with burnt toast. Nose of roast, coffee, chocolate, licorice, some dark fruit, molasses and bit of caramel malt. Flavor is a bit sweet, roast, licorice and molasses, a bit fruity with a chocolate and caramel finish. Nose... brown sugar, molasses and toffee. Palate... more with the aforementioned brown sugar and molasses, lighter on the toffee but plenty of caramel and coffee and a long finish. What a treat!
