12 oz bottle from Capones. Poured a good looking clear bright horange with a good amount of visible carbonation and a large fluffy bright white head. Aroma was nice with some distinct pumpkin pie notes, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and vanilla. The flavor doesn’t come off nearly as clean and the spiecs just blend into one super spice that isn’t nearly as pleasant and some vegtable notes as well. The body is rather thin and the carbonation is strong with large bubbles. Drinkable but there are better pumpkin beers to be had out there.

Bottle:   Orangish golden, slight haze, moderate to thin frothy white head, settles quickly, sparce lacing.   Spicy nose, cinnamon, nutmeg, and all-spice.   A little light on the tongue.   Starts okay, finishes quick.   Has a sort of granola flavor as well.   Moderate to thin body and mouthfeel.   Very slight hint of sourness as it finishes.   Okay, but could stand to be spiced up a bit.   Thanks Rob!

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper body with a small fizzy white head that faded pretty quickly. The nose is heavy on the spicing, lots of ginger, which is pretty unusual for a pumpkin beer. This is not especially a good thing though. The cinnamon and nutmeg bring up the rear with some caramel malt. The flavor is very spicy and lively with a heavy ginger burn before the caramel sweetness takes over. Lingering sweet malt and the ginger linger on forever. Slightly clingy body with very fizzy prickly carbonation. Another overspiced pumpkin brew. The ginger was a little too much on center stage here.

Excellent, super spicy aroma. Tons of ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. The flavor is similarly super spicy, but the experience is less pleasant than the aroma. A bit of green squash and dry spices on the finish. Not bad.

Pours a orange-golden color with a bit of white head. Heavy aroma of partially cooked pumpkin pie with a heavy dose of nutmeg. Flavor begins with intense pumpkin pie spice and continues with fresh ginger and some yeast. Very lively (especially with the potent ginger) yet not over the top. A good pumpkin beer with more intensity than many competitors.

Bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma is of pumpkin and spices. Taste is more spice than anything else - clove, nutmeg. Tastes more like pumpkin bread or pumpkin pie than pumpkin ale. Not bad though.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal clear amber color with a large white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is a combination of spices including nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice as well as the pumpkin one would expect. The flavor is pumpkin, but not over the top. The individual spices are tough to pick out, but instead blend together as mentioned in a previous review. There is a bready quality and some earthy mild bitterness toward the finish. Light/medium bodied and simply an average beer.

10/29/2009: Thirsty Dog Pumpkin Ale... Aroma: Vegetable; hint of pumpkin, light spices including cinnamon and allspice. Appearance: Pale copper color; thin off-white crown. Flavor: Raw pumpkin (slightly caramlized), faint nutmeg; earthy, dry finsih. Palate: Medium-light; average texture. Overall: Respectable Pumpkin Ale that stays out of the nasty vegetable or overly spicy extremes.

12 fl. oz. bottle shared by alesdad06. Thanks Brad! Rating #28 for this beer.
