Sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08. Pours a hazy caramel amber brew with a thick and long lasting off-white head that has some nice lacing. Aroma of root beer, black licorice, cloves, a touch of almond marzipan, and yeast. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium bodied with flavors of caramel malt, black licorice, cloves and citrus zest. Finish has a lingering black licorice aftertaste that slowly disappears. This saison sure has quite a unique twist for sure.
