islay (401), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 6, 2008 Small pour (approximately 3 oz.), on tap at Gitchee Gumee Brewfest in Superior, WI on 4-5-08. This was the third of 12 beers that I rated (out of about 18 total beers that I tried). Listed as "Thirsty Pagan Ginger IPA" at both the festival and on the website. I suggest that the name be changed to that from "Ginger Pale Ale" and the style be changed to IPA from APA. Pours a cloudy, opaque amber-gold. Looks like apricot nectar in the cup, except that there is a moderate amount of beige head present. Nice, hoppy and fruity taste. Peach and apricot flavors. Floral and sweet with a dry finish. This reminds me of a ginger ale in taste, which is not surprising given the name. Medium body. Oily in the palate. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Apr 5, 2007 Burnt Gold Color with White Ring. Quite Hoppy Aroma. Alot of Dry Hopped Flavor...with Some Subtle Ginger Notes and Light Malt to Balance Out With...Dry Hop Aftertaste.....Basically a Dry Hopped Pale with Light Ginger Notes. Nice but Enjoyed the Ginger Ale from Last Winter Better.
