Pours black with a small rocky light brown head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, coffee, burnt), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather, leaves) with notes of wood, smoke, tar and charcoal. Full bodied, mineral texture, soft carbonation and a metallic finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness, sour milk. OleR (2093), Oslo, Norway

Nice and interesting aromas of smoked meat (spekeflesk), tar, juniper, espresso and bitter chocolate. Amazing! Taste is slight sweet with burnt and smoked dark malts. Also licorice and mild alcohol. Medium-bodied. Long tart finish. What a Porter! BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

Smoke is the very first note about this beer. Had this beer after it had been for 2 years in my cellar. Not much hoppy and the smokeness was more in balance with the maltness. Very nice and I’ll think I’ll bring some more to my celler. charlotte (2036), Vanløse, Denmark

Aroma of smoked wood and tar indeed, along with well roasted malts and bitter-chcocolate. Flavour is bitter, smoky, thick tar, liquorice, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Aftertaste is long with bitter, smoky, roasty with some chocolate. Great brew indeed! petermadsen (391), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 31, 2006 A dense brown head tops of the jet black beer. The aroma is heavy on chocolate, coffe and roasted grains, but it’s still quite clean. The taste is of bitter chocolate, burned wood and birchwood smoke. The finish is dry and slight bitter with the chocolate flavour lingering for quite a bit.after subsequent sips the smoke gets more up front.
The beer is thick and fills the mouth perfectly.
A very nice beer. Supposedly the brewer has been developing the it for quite some years. So no wonder it turns out this great! Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Pour is deep dark brownish black with a dense light brown head...smell is smokey and roasty with some cocoa and light notes of coffee...but moreso smoke than anything else...mouthfeel is nice and velvety...taste is roasty cocoa and strongly smoked...I have to guess this is a smoke beer more than a porter....wonderful smoke flavors...the 3 best smoke beers I have ever had in my life have been Danish...that is pretty awesome...if this isn’t a smoked beer, then I got a bad bottle that I loved. rane (505), Nibe, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 27, 2006 My rating is coloured by the fact, that I´m not so fund of porter. Anyway a dark brown beer with medium brown head. Aroma of malt and licorice.
Taste very dominating of licorice, but a decent beer.
