href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>henrikb, thank you Christoffer, Martin and Henrik. Near black in colour, some deep ruby around the edges. Large long lasting beige coloured head, nice lacing. The aroma is of roasted malts, licorice, coffee and chocolate. The flavour is very roasty and burnt, creamy, some noticable alcohol, dark chocolate, espresso, quite sweet, Moderately bitter mouthfeel, large body, medium high carbonation. Finishes with a noticable alcohol warmth, very roasty. Its pretty sweet with lots of roasted malt bitterness and I really enjoyed it but it didn’t have the balance I was looking for. cab (863), Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2006 12 oz bottle, via sk8viking. Pours a pitch black colored body under a creamy tight bubbled chocolate brown head. No sediment in bottle. Aroma is of chocolate and roasted malt, rather dry with a light hoppiness and lots of caramel. Flavor is very dry as well, first I get burnt malt, roast, dark chocolate, and coffee. Finish is earthy, slightly astringent, and a little chalky with minimal alcohol flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with very soft carbonation yielding a creamy texture. I was surprised to see that this was not bottle conditioned. A very solid Baltic Porter, full flavored with great drinkbility. I wish I had access to this all the time.
