| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Pours dark brown with a small beige head that reduces to a ring. Tiny bit of lacing. Aroma is licorice, roasted malt, light coffee, light smoke. Flavor is more licorice, a little chocolate and coffee. Finish picks up some smoked meat notes as I work down the glass. Body is on the thin side, low carbonation. OK. Middle-of-the-road for baltic porters which are one of my favorite styles. jesperhammer (334), Copenhagen, Denmark

Bery dark brown, light brown head.
A bit dull nose. Very roasted, liqourice, tar, smoke, burned asphalt. Slightly bitter hoppy ending and a little thin.
Complex and not a beginners porter. Very nice. Aroma: Liquorice, spice, chocolate, alcohol, malt, quite creamy with some oak there. Flavour: Huge oak-ness to it, lots of liquorice, alcohol, almost ’chewy’, brandy, red wine, long wood barrel aged whiskey finish. gyllenbock (311), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Bottle. Black color with a good looking light brown head.
Smoky aroma with hints of ham, or perhaps smoked salmon. A lot of licorice and saltiness in the taste also coffee and bitter chocolate. Aftertaste was a little on the sweet side. A good porter, easy to drink. BDR (2168), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 16, 2009 I think this one was from badge ben. I might have a second rating from an overseas trade that was from a good bottle, but this rating came from a bottle that had issues to say the least. Smelled like a wisconsin dairy farm - hay and cow manure on the aroma. A similar taste, but with coffee tastes. abemorsten (180), Randaberg, Norway
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Tried this one quite a few years ago and thought it was extreme. Now I find it a delight in small doses. Black pour topped by a beutiful creamy light brown head that lasts. Aroma of Tar, Smoke, Roasted malt, hints of coffe, and choclate. Lightl bitterness troughout the drink. Starts also slightly acidic but becomes more salty and alcoholic towards the end. It’s powerful but balanced. Medium to full bodied, the texture is creamy and a bit dry with soft carbonation. Leaves a lasting impression and is certainly recommended. topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA
