Commercial Description:
A stone ale. 800 degrees centigrade lava rocks are added to the wort creating a coating of caramel. The rocks are then left in the tanks with the beer during maturation, slowly releasing the caramel. Ale yeast and aroma hops complete the special aroma notes.

Bottle. Dark amber with off white head. Malty, sweet aroma with elements of straw, grass and a little perfume. Sweet flavour that’s well kept in balance by the fresh, grass hops and their bitterness. Still elements of perfume.

Dark amber with a nice, red hue. The head is limited. The aroma has notes of hops and malt. The flavour has strong aromatic hoppy notes with notes of fruit (tangerine) and some caramel. The finish is hoppy and spicy. I had expected more caramel sweetness and less aroma hops, but it’s still a nice beer.

Bottle. Clear amber with mostly lasting off-white head. Lots of malt and green hoppy notes in the aroma. Some bread also detected. Slightly sweet malt and some minerality in the flavor. Somewhat oily on the palate. Average finish with nice bitterness. Pretty nice x-mas beer.
