The beer looks nice. The smell is sour. There must be something wrong. This batch is contaminated or something. The taste is sour and just not drinkable. I will have to throw out the rest of the bottles. Not good. Thomas Creek is OK beer. I don’t know what went wrong with this.

Dark brown color with a thick tan head. Sweet fruity aroma with hints of chocolate. Flavor has some roasty malts and a sort of sour finish. Beer is a little thin for a Dopplebock but I understand all too well the limitations the brewers face in SC. Ok.

Thanks to my boss for the beer!

Poured a dark brown / black / amber body and a small khaki head. The aroma and flavor are a bit weak. Slight notes of chocolate, hint of coffee, some nuttiness, a drop of smoke, and a very slight tartness on the finish suppose yeast gone bad? Thin palate… maybe better on draft than in the bottle, I hope.

bottle from Captaincougar. This was kinda’ weak as the taste was very non-descript and hard to pick anything out.

How does this brewery stay in business? This beer sucks just like the other offerings I’ve tried.

12 oz bottle. Pours a rich deep dark brown almost black and opaque with a thin slick looking head that lasts. Weird aroma of light maple syrup, some honey sweetness, light toasted malt, sugary sweet caramel malts, light coffee, and some slight papery oxidation when swirled. Flavor is nice and toasty malts, some light chocolate sweet caramel, nutty, and has a dry roasty finish. Carbontation is a bit high and detracts from the mouthfeel.

Chestnut body beneath a thick tan head. Sweet caramel/molasses aroma with notes of cherries, a touch of smoke, and cinnamon. Medium bodied. Slightly sweet flavor. A mediocre doppelbock.
