Jun 28, 2009 Bottle pours very dark brown/almost black with light tan head. Aroma is subtle chocolate with a touch of hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is more light chocolate flavor and finishes crisp with a slight hop crispness. A little caramel shines through.

May 11, 2009 Pours a dark brown that allows light. Head is one finger thick creamy light tan. The nose is sweet, molasses, some bitter chocolate, tad off, fruity, . The flavor is a bit astringent, sweet, rich, chocolate/coffee, peanut shells, bitter. Palate is not too good, bitter grain. 3

Mar 18, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Bruisin Ales in Asheville. Pours a reddish tinted brown color with a thin head. Poor retention and lacing. Aroma is roasted malts with leafy hops. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, leafy hops and a metallic finish. Medium bodied.
