12 oz. Nearly opaque brown-black with a small, but lasting head. Aromas of coffee, caramel and cocoa. Taste is a nice blend of the same, with some marshmallow and char added for more complexity. Medium body is watery in a nice way, mostly smooth, and roasty dry. This brewery has really stepped it up several notches with the bottling of this excellent porter.

dark brown with ruby highlights under a small brown head. burnt roasty malt aroma. flavor is of burnt malt, chocolate, tootsie rolls, and toast. medium bodied, slightly chewy palate. a good porter.

GABF 2008. Chocolate and roast, faint smoke, minerally finish with medium bitterness. Decent.

Draught. High creamy and lasting offr-white head. Pitch black body. Mild coffee aroma. Coffee liquorice flavor with high carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste.

Appearance: Pours a black body with a thin, beige head. Smell: Roasty, slightly burnt malt nose with notes of dark chocolate syrup and licorice powder. Taste: Dark maltiness with some black malt well into the mix. Twinges of chocolate enter followed by a lasting licorice flavor. That black patent in there really starts to flirt with being astringent at times. Spicy, roasty bitterness. Finishes with a lingering taste of roast and licorice. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: Ease up on the black patent malt and you just may have something, Thomas Creek.

12oz bottle. Pours a very dark opaque brown. Big aroma of roast, peat smoke, and seaweed. Some raisin and plum aromas as well. First sip yeilds the flavor of tobacco and licorice spiciness. Follows up with some vanilla notes. Bittersweet cocoa. French roast coffee bean deep in the finish. Medium bodied.

Thanks to Mikesgrove for this one Poured into my snifter produced a fingers worth of tan head that turns into a ring of lace around the glass .The body of this brew was dark brown in color Aromas of roasted malts, some sweet toffee as well as coffee note filled my nose from the glass. The flavors of mimic the aromas but with a slight smoky bitter involved as well. I can see why the word Peat was used before in a review the mouthfeel was medium to light I will agree it needs some more body to it This is a good brew and with a little tweaking it could become world class.
