12 oz. Clear red-copper with a large head that settles into a nice lasting ring and even laces a bit. Aroma is caramel apple and slight spicy wood. Flavor is a more caramel apple on the front and the spicy wood comes on further into the glass, turning the whole towards cinnamon-apple. Some slight toasted nut and bread as well. Near medium body is dry and almost smooth. Nice example of the style (which I normally don’t care for), and one of the better this brewery has to offer in my sampling of about half their brews.

Bonus bottle from tonraner on 3/24/08. Great to add a South Carolina rating. Pours orange-amber with a nice creamy small head. Aroma seems to have some buttery diacetyl, but I’m not an expert. Seems to have melanoidin malts in there as well. Flavor needs something to be desired: a little sour, a little vegetal. Not exactly easy to drink. Medium body. Dryish.

The aroma is sweet with caramel malt, plastic, and touches of both fruit and hops. The appearance is amber with a small creamy head and lots of bubbles in the beer. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth and good for the style. Overall it’s uninteresting but I like it.

Not much here, light on the malt and a bit sour in every thing else. It thin and there is no hop presence. hardly worth your time. update 1/21/09 looked at my old review and I must had a bad bottle at the time. The malts is rich and caramel. hops are a bit astringent at the end. pretty good.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear bright orange with fluffy ivory head. The aroma is sweet caramel and a little bit of a spicy hint. The flavor is rather sweet with honeyish and caramel malts, then some slight citric and spicy hops. There are some burnt toast hints off in the distance, too. The finish is a tad metallic.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks! Poured a deep orange/reddish color, clear with almost no head. Mildly sweet aroma, some caramel malty sweetness to it with just a bit of a hop kick. Easy to drink and tasty, just not particularly remarkable. Thanks Santa!

Poured a light amber-copper body with a medium white top. Nose of semi-sweet malts and mild hops. Not much body. Mild buttery, creamy flavor. Ok beer.

12 oz. bottle from Suttree. Pour is orange - almost 100% clear with a 1/2 inch white head. Head fades quickly to just a thin lining. Aroma is fruit, some sweetish chemical smell too. Taste is pretty bland, some malt, basic palate and really not too much flavor. The checmical background was present in the taste as well. Old bottle maybe? If this was fresh on draft it would be serviceable, I suppose. Thanks Phil!
