Laces with wet spotty randomness. Malty aromatics with an overwhelming scent of butterscotch. Yikes. I don’t like where this is going. Caramel malt flavors with more annoying sticky butterscotch. An oil slick of butter. Fruitiness in the aftertaste, barely peeking through the diacetyl. Buttery smooth and creamy, midway through the bottle the consistency started to make me gag. I didn’t particularly enjoy this at all. griff (2), Greenville, South Carolina, USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 18, 2007 I enjoy this beer because it is widely available on tap in this area, and it is tasty with sufficient hops and a little bitter. It seems fairly strong alcoholwise, but I’m not sure about the official content. Silphium (2160), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Bottle from Suttree. Slightly hazy copper body, thin off-white to buff head. Cerealy aroma, somewhat tart, with caramel notes. Light, watery body with the same tart cereals and grassy hops. After a few sips some sweet caramels and prune notes develop. Too acidic and biting, nonetheless. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Pours light amber with a very thin wispy light beige head. Aroma is sweet alefruits, and fruity, funky hops. Taste is grainy with sweet, candyish malt, and sickly pine hop resins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with sweet fullness that is unnerving . I didn’t enjoy this too much. Delirium (502), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Updated: Oct 21, 2006This one is hard to rate, because it appears to often be infected, and actually the infection sometimes produces an interesting sourness. Below is a rating for one of the better bottles I’ve had. It can range from much more sour (almost pickle-like) to a bit more boring.
Bottle. Pours clear orange-copper with a small white head. Bold but sweet aroma of fruity citrus, lots of malt, and some nuts, with a hint of sourness. Taste is fruity, moderately sweet, somewhat sour, and finishing with some hops. Almost like a sour-cherry fruit beer, really. Not what I was expecting at all, but pretty good. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Draught. This is sure not red. Pours kind of orange or light amber. A small white head forms then fades away quickly. The aroma is a little rough around the edges, but with hints of juicy citrus. This is pretty orangey in the mouth with some semi-sweet herbal notes and a bit of caramel. The finish is like marmalade. Pretty decent session drink. Haack (101), Hornslet, Denmark

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Murky coppe-reddishr pour with a lasting and creamy tan head. Aroma is very malty and nutty. Nice carbonation. Sweet sugary sweet taste. Some hops prickle the tongue along with some dried fruit and earthy/wood notes dominate the finish. I thought it was pretty good
