Commercial Description:
Truly the local favorite: Our American Pale Ale is a consistent First Place winner of the annual Hartford Advocate Best of Hartford Reader's Poll award for Best Micro Brew Beer. This extremely vivid ale stresses a crisp hop bitterness, lingering flavor and the aroma of distinctive West Coast ales. A caramel sweetness in the malt balances out the chock-full-of-hops flavor to yield a complex but quite refreshing, medium-bodied brew.

An accessible version of the the APA that wasn’t quite West Coast in the hop bill. Lacked strength, body and aroma. Thin malty body. Amber in color.

Certainly not the best APA I’ve had. It falls short of my expectations for a pale ale. The body was too light and the finish was way too sweet. There was a nice amount of hop flavor in the beer, but just not enough. The copper color and the lacing off-white head were enjoyable to experience, but that was about it. The aroma lacked the big flowery and hoppy wallop to the nose. The flavors lacked that big hop intensity as well. This was a pretty disappointing APA.

Pours a quickly descending head and a reddish body. Aroma is mostly hoppy with some fruits. The beer itself is kind of watery, but has the standard APA elements of hops and little bit of caramel malts. A nice session beer, but alas nothing at all that special.

Bottle with a fairly unattractive monochrome red label. Aroma of caramel malt, cherries, and some toffee. Flavor is an interesting mixture of caramel, darker fruit, some unexpected roasted notes and a little earthy touch. I enjoyed this.

Amber color. Clear. Limited lacing. Aroma of malts and caramel. Unimpressive. Taste is mostly caramel and malts with minimal hop bitterness.

Pours a hazy golden amber with foamy white head. Lots of hops and a nice malt balance in the aroma. Flavor very similar to aroma with a nice balance of maltiness and hops.

From a 12 fl. oz (US) bottle. I saw no expiration date or lot number. Pous a cloudy, bronze-amber tone with a little bit of off-white head. It looks more like a bitter than a pale ale. Aroma is hopped up. Medium mouth feel. A decent amount of hops in the taste but not quite as powerful as an IPA. A little malts too. Bitter and dry to the end. This is complex but it is also good.
