Commercial Description:
Truly the local favorite: Our American Pale Ale is a consistent First Place winner of the annual Hartford Advocate Best of Hartford Reader's Poll award for Best Micro Brew Beer. This extremely vivid ale stresses a crisp hop bitterness, lingering flavor and the aroma of distinctive West Coast ales. A caramel sweetness in the malt balances out the chock-full-of-hops flavor to yield a complex but quite refreshing, medium-bodied brew.

Pours a two-finger light tan head that goes quickly leaving traces of lace. Nearly clear pale amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Starts as a malt/hop mix, almost sweet, hops dominate at finish, some bitter aftertaste. $1.85 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread), lightly hoppy (apricot). Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is trace sweetness, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Wow, was this bland...almost no aroma and very thin and bland in the mouth. Totally boring.

No head, copper clear body. Basically no aroma. Taste is bland, light malts and pretty much no hops. Body is watery, basic. Finish is clean but tasteless.

Bottle ala jjpm74. Dark amber color with an ivory colored moderate head. Aromas of light brown sugar caramels with a touch of orange oil and rose petals. Aromas border on an amber ale. Mild malt sweetness, with a toasted white bread quality. Biting hops take over mid quaff with a touch of hopleaf flavor. Almost too dry in the finish. I would like a little more malt in the finish and more hops flavors, but that just my preference. Decent brew, just not exciting to me.

Bottle from SpringsLicker. Pours a medium to deep amber color with a nice sized off-white head that fades to a broken layer after a bit. Good lacing. Musty aroma, interesting. Lighter side of medium bodied. Dry, bordering on acetic flavor. Somewhat puckering. Non-impressive.

Poured a clear amber color with a thin off-white head. Hoppy citrus aroma on top of a malty base. Malty caramel flavor with light hop and light bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours golden orange. Citrus hoppy malty aroma, but there was also definite grass in there too. More of the same for flavor - malty and a touch of caramel, and decent citrusy hop flavors, and again grass. Kinda thin to me. Decent bitter bite.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy(especially cold) medium orange color with a nice tight white head. Aroma is traditional APA- moderately hoppy with lots of citrus some pine and hints of grapefruit, backed by some medium crystal malts. Caramel malts come out nicely as it warms along with a nice hoppy bitter finish. Standard example of the style.
