Commercial Description:
Truly the local favorite: Our American Pale Ale is a consistent First Place winner of the annual Hartford Advocate Best of Hartford Reader's Poll award for Best Micro Brew Beer. This extremely vivid ale stresses a crisp hop bitterness, lingering flavor and the aroma of distinctive West Coast ales. A caramel sweetness in the malt balances out the chock-full-of-hops flavor to yield a complex but quite refreshing, medium-bodied brew.

dark amber, whispy beige head, sweet hoppy aroma with a hint of citrus, good carmel malt flavor, well balanced with some hop bitterness that leads to a long bitter finish, nice but lacking distinctive character

Cask at GBBF 2005. Amber brown colour. Fairly typical US IPA with goodish hops that were slightly more floral than most. Some malt, not bad but needs more depth. Amazing hop finish (according to my notes)

Cask, GBBF. Orange color. Hoppy blackcurrant aroma. Fairly light bodied and rather thin. Hoppy and fruity (blackcurrant). Almost oily. Long hopbiiter aftertaste, maybe a bit sticky.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with SpringsLicker (thanks!). Poured a deeper and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of small floaters. Aromas of citrus, caramel and flowers. Tastes of toasted malts, a little bready, and citrus. Thinner body.

Cask@GBBF04’. OK, on the grainy thin side and not as hoppy as i expected. Some salty tea-like hops in the finish, not too bad.

(Cask)Orange-amber, clear; no head. Citrussy hops, peppery, nutmeg aromas. Very hoppy taste, USA hops, sharpish at the end. Impression of gingerbread flavour. Light bodied. Long hard bitter aftertaste. Not bad, but a tad too harsh, not clean-tasting enough.
