Commercial Description:
HOP MEADOW INDIA PALE ALE. The American cousin of our ESB. This pale ale was originally brewed in 19th century England to survive the long ocean voyages to their troops stationed in India - hence the name India Pale Ale. To keep the beer from spoiling during these four- to six-month odysseys, they produced a stronger, more generously hopped ale. Our creamy IPA emphasizes traditional West Coast Chinook and Cascade hops to yield a hophead's delight of a brew: just-right complexity that's not too sweet - or over-the-top with hops.

This is a very nice example of the style. All kinds of pine in the aroma. Pours a cloudy honey color with an off-white head that laces well and hangs on for the distance. Taste has hops all throughout, with hints citrus in the front end. The hops don’t overwhelm you with their bitterness either....but they’re in there.

This beer has a lovely dark ruby, and caramel color. Very nice looking indeed. The smell is great. The hops are nice and fresh smelling. The hops used smell like they are top quality. The beer does not leave room for any other smell(s). The aroma of hops just dominates, but still a nice smell. The hop taste is great. A nice bitter and hop taste are present throughout the entire drinking experience. I guess the beer could be considered "overly bitter" due to the fact that other flavors other than hops weren’t present. This beer could be amazing if they added some sweet notes. The beer is pretty good, but the hops don’t leave room for other flavors.

12 oz. bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Solid citrus and floral aroma. Pours deep copper with thin off-white head. One of the maltier IPAs I’ve had for sure. Big time bitter finish.

12oz leftover from our first dinner party in Easthampton. The pour into a pint glass is dark for an IPA. The aroma is pine trees and alcohol. The first sip is cold and tastes like a regular bitter IPA. Nothing spectacular in this one, but it is refreshing and balanced. The finish is very good in this beer. The oily hops are there, but there is very little aftertaste. This was an average IPA from a good brewery.

12 fl. oz bottle. Dark amber colour and hazy. Medium sized off-white head. Strong citrusy hop aroma with some notes of grass. High carbonation level. Quite strong hop bitterness. Lots of hop oils. Piney, floral and grassy. Nicely balanced malts and hops. Crisp carbonation enhances the perception of hops. Lingering hop bitterness. Nice IPA.

12 oz bottle bonused from someone, thank you mystery person. Big hop aroma I’m noticing as I’m multitasking instead of rating this beer. Pours amber with a fluffy white head that has faded to a finger. The taste is big and piney, with a bit of citrus. Very bitter sticking after taste. Very good IPA but the bitterness is a bit much for me. Good beer overall though.

Pours a rosey amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is a citrusy boquet, and actually not too bad. Flavor is a bit one dimensional with a very forward piney hoppy bitterness throughout. It comes on strong and stays there until the finish. It was alright, but there definitely better offerings available.

Piney resin aroma, feint citrus aroma. Pours amber/pale thin to no head. Piney citrus hop flavor up front, very mild, some caramel malt, crystal malt i’d say. A good session IPA. Very light and easy to drink!
