Commercial Description:
HOP MEADOW INDIA PALE ALE. The American cousin of our ESB. This pale ale was originally brewed in 19th century England to survive the long ocean voyages to their troops stationed in India - hence the name India Pale Ale. To keep the beer from spoiling during these four- to six-month odysseys, they produced a stronger, more generously hopped ale. Our creamy IPA emphasizes traditional West Coast Chinook and Cascade hops to yield a hophead's delight of a brew: just-right complexity that's not too sweet - or over-the-top with hops.

Bottle 22oz. Courtsey of DYCSoccer17. Sweet citrus fruit and maple syrup aroma. Amber body with off white head. Second glass from this bottle enjoyed outside in 90 degree heat left a good amount of lacing. Flavor was just up my alley with sweet citrus and the syrupy texture seemed to give it a full body. Dryness on the palate as expected good brew.

From a 22oz. brown bomber bottle with no freshness date and a please keep refrigerated instruction on the upper right side of label. Made a good appearance, poured a clear red hued amber brown with a foamy pale tannish head that settled into a thin, semi- sticky, bubbly lacing, good carbonation. Had a piney and citric/grapefruity hoppy nose with a sweet caramel maltiness at the edges. A crisp, smooth and creamy medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. The hoppy flavor of fresh pine needles, grapefruit rinds, minty and tobacco, sharp at first then rolling in it’s bitterness, a fighting to balance sweet toasted caramel maltiness, a subtle butteriness creeping in towards the end and a dry, spicy finish with a tobacco bitterness lingering in the palate. A very enjoyable AIPA, much better than I was expecting, tasty with a nice balanced bitterness.

Pours to a bronzed body with a creamy white head. The aroma is hugely hoppy. Sweet juices. Fruity peaches, mangoes, tangerines. The flavor is staleish hops. The palate was cardboardy.

Some sticky honey-like sweetness and oranges in the aroma. Beautiful reddish amber in color with big and fluffy off-white head and oozing lacing. Chinook hops at the forefront with all their zappy bitterness - lots of limes, lemons and slight mint. Malts are very firm - very sweet and chewy. Creamy mouthfeel and lingering bitterness. One of the better IPAs I have had in awhile.

Bottle. Poured a copper color with a tall off-white head that leaves lacing behind. Citrus and pine aroma with a light caramel background. The flavor found grapefruit, pine, and a generous amount of malts with a hint of orange as it warmed slightly. Light body that is bitter but not a big bitterness like other IPAs. Thanks to Springlicker for sharing this at the Tennessee Tasting!

Not a ery memorable IPA. No flaws, just nothing outstaning. Aroma is the usual west coast cascade. Flavor is litle more on the citrus side, with a mild finish.

Pours a reddish copper hue, with big creamy off-white head. The aroma is pine-sap hops, some grapefruit, and quite a bit of crystal malt. The flavor is slightly earthy with some spicy bark taste in there, and eventually a distant sweetness that resembles bubblegum. Then comes some fruity hop bitterness, leading to grapefruit and pine in the finish. Tasty beer.

Great color. Looks bigger and sweeter than it tastes. The hops and sweetness are well balanced and neither overpower each other. Sugar and caramel tastes are closer to a double IPA. I’d be interested in what the alcohol content is. I would guess not much more than 7%. Cascade hops for sure. Nice beer.
