Commercial Description:
HOP MEADOW INDIA PALE ALE. The American cousin of our ESB. This pale ale was originally brewed in 19th century England to survive the long ocean voyages to their troops stationed in India - hence the name India Pale Ale. To keep the beer from spoiling during these four- to six-month odysseys, they produced a stronger, more generously hopped ale. Our creamy IPA emphasizes traditional West Coast Chinook and Cascade hops to yield a hophead's delight of a brew: just-right complexity that's not too sweet - or over-the-top with hops.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A very cloudy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet grassy hoppy, while the flavor is sweet malty with strong ntoes of oranges and grapefruit - Cascade hops, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottled, thanks jjpm74! Clear dark amber, brief head. Grapefruty hop aroma. Caramelly crystal malt flavour. A very drinkable well hopped, straight forward IPA with lightly resiny finish and good bitterness.

Cask gravity @ GBBF 2007, London. Unclear medium amber color with virtually none, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, pine, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat to soft.

Cask@GBBF2007. Hazy orange colour, not much head. Aroma is hops, alcohol, sweey nectar and some grapefruits. Really lovely. Flavour is grassy, fruity and caramelly along with some slight alcohol. A really nicely pleasant US IPA for once.

Bright dark amber. Thin head. Earthy hop aroma with some diacetyl. Toasty palate with lots of bitterness. Sweet cracked grain but this beer becomes quickly dominated by strong diacetyl notes. Way too much diacetyl. Get this off my tongue.
