Aroma was very coffee-like. Nice full mouthfeel. Flavor was a nice blend of chocolate malt and coffee. Not as much alcohol taste as I would have guessed. Solid beer. Thanks, Cottrell for the trade. beerbill (1963), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2007 500 ml bottle. Pours very deep brown with a frothy, light tan head that recedes to a very thin creamy film. Light but pleasant aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Flavor was lightly roasted malt with some chocolate with some light hops bitterness at the finish. Quite smooth, almost creamy actually. Well crafted and very enjoyable.
