Pours a viscoud brown color with a brown one and a half inch head, moderate head retention and nice lacing. Aroma is rum soaked fruits, nuts and leather. Taste is very nutty, with tobacco and some very subtle caramel notes. Very dry and different entirely from the aroma. Alcohol is quite noticeable. Full bodied. durhambeer (1215), Durham, USA

Nutty walnuts and roasty coffee/burnt malt on the nose and palate. A very roasty porter, but I could never shake that weird cardboard/walnut taste. Lighter palate. Decent but not great. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2008 This is not particularly good beer. Tight nose has notes of walnut shell and rootbeer. Flavor is faintly sweet with a dry finish. Not much to the flavor or palate, but a nice roasted aftertaste, at least. Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Nose is dark sour fruits and roasted coffee. Taste is more sour dark fruit, toasted malt, ashy cocoa and black coffee with a light hop finish. Medium mouth feel. Not bad. Pours a dark brown to black color with a light tan head. Smell is lightly smoky and hoppy and pretty nice. Taste is somewhat hoppy for a porter, or is it the charred roastiness...Some light coffee as well to balanced the nice roasty malts. Medium bodied and carbonation is normal. Dark roasty bitter chocolate coffee, in a nutshell. Nice. daknole (2941), Plantation, Florida, USA

Aroma is full of coffee and some chocolate and is also nice and roasty. Flavor starts off with some nice coffee and chocolate notes and then turns a bit bitter at the end. I liked it, but I wish for less bitterness in an imp porter. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Pours a dark brown/black, with a smallish light brown head. Smells of big caramel and toffee, with a chocolatey undertone, with some hints of roast and dark malt. The flavor is pretty smooth and creamy. Good doses of caramel malt and shades of coffee in there too. Kind of a nutty, roasty finish, that has a profound sweetness to it and a robust body. Pretty tasty baltic porter, I liked it. asheft (1411), Marburg, Germany

Very nutty and vinous aroma that’s almost alarmingly sour with white grape. Black with bubbly tan cover. The taste opens with a tangy and sweet pumpernickel that develops into bitter coffee and ends somewhat abruptly in bitter walnut. Lots of dried fruit. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a dark malt bitter coffee finish.
