Commercial Description:
This traditional red ale gets its unique color from an interesting blend of pale, caramel and roasted malts which promote a sweetness that’s then balanced with crisp, authentic English-style hops. A very unique and drinkable red that’s also favored by amber-lovers. And not only on St.Paddy’s day, but the other 364 days of the year as well.

Irish Red? This looks more like a nut brown, deep copper brown color no head. Sweet malty aroma. Nice flavor, malty and sweet at the start with touches of caramel and brown sugar. Finish is sweet and smooth. Finally, a Hooker beer I enjoy.

Poured a deep ruby red. Aroma of malts, fruit and hops. Flavor was big on malts with a hop bitterness and a fruit or candy sugar- like sweetness in the background. Medium bodied and easy drinking, a real nice Irish ale.

Bottle. Poured a clear, deep red body with decent size head. Malty aroma. Sweet malty flavor that is decently balanced and crisp. Smooth and easily drinkable.

Pours out a nice irish red amber color. Good head, lacing sticks around for a while. Taste is a bit nutty, toasty, malty, and the finish is a bit bitter and copery. A bit warm for me poured out of the cask.

Dark brown color - slightly tranluscent and bubbly. Medium head & thin toasty aroma. Flavor is midly sweet, strong malt base, notes of caramel, roasted grains, and as others have said a winey sort of quality. Finish is dry. Not bad.

Bottle from the variety pack, which just showed up in NE PA. This one pours a deep brownish ruby color, with a fluffy, 2-finger head that reappears with every repour. The aroma is caramel malty, with some hops and a heavy vinous fruit smell. The taste is malty and red winey fruity, with backup nuts and toffee. Nice complexity and balance.

Bottle from John (jjpm74), Thanks. Pours out a dark brown / red color with a thick tan head. Smell is sweet and malty and slightly roasted. Taste is smooth and rich and pretty malty. Gave me bad heartburn, not really sure why. Beer was good and it would be a pretty nice session.

This one excels with roasted caramel malty sweetness but this element doesn’t seem to fully blend with the yeasty hoppy elements which don’t predominate. Its easy to drink and has a nutty malt blast which makes this one leave my fridge quickly.
