Commercial Description:
This traditional red ale gets its unique color from an interesting blend of pale, caramel and roasted malts which promote a sweetness that’s then balanced with crisp, authentic English-style hops. A very unique and drinkable red that’s also favored by amber-lovers. And not only on St.Paddy’s day, but the other 364 days of the year as well.

12 oz. bottle via trade with hopdog - Pours a deep copper color with a good size off white head. Light lacing. Has a faint earthy aroma. I mean faint. Has a light malt flavor with just a touch of smokiness. Kind of a dry palate. Light to medium body. A decent beer. Thanks Steve.

12oz bottle. Poured a deep reddish / orange color witha an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, roast, nuts and light chocolate. Tastes of nuts, caramel, light chocolate and had a light citric finish. Malty. Light lacing left on the glass.

poured a nice amber hue with a white head. A nice malty aroma with some caramel notes and some yeasty notes. A smooth drink which had some nice malty notes and somehops, but in the end was nothing special.

On cask at Spuyten Duyvil, Brooklyn...A simple, uncomplex Irish ale. It is slightly sweet, with a malty aroma, mostly malts in the flavor as well. Very smooth and easy to drink, which was probably aided by the cask.

Cask at Spuyten Duyvil - shocking clarity for a cask ale - rather sweet, doughy aroma, with not much else going on - big caramel malt presence, and a slight roasty quality - quite drinkable, but really not much going on.

Bottle. Dark clear reddish brown with a bumpy cream colored head, mostly lasting and leaving islets of lacing. Cookie malt aroma with some brothy yeast. Flavor of dark bread malt, slightly tangy and leathery, like a good old world ale. More hoppy tang on the finish, leaving a slightly bitter aftertaste. Quite drinkable session beer, though my particluar bottle had a bit more yeastiness than I’d like.

Pours dark red with a medium white head. Suprsingly hoppy, with a bit of malty caramel/biscuit. Flavor is a bit of roasted malt, with strong hop flavors. Finish is not that long, and a bit metallic.
