Commercial Description:
This traditional red ale gets its unique color from an interesting blend of pale, caramel and roasted malts which promote a sweetness that’s then balanced with crisp, authentic English-style hops. A very unique and drinkable red that’s also favored by amber-lovers. And not only on St.Paddy’s day, but the other 364 days of the year as well.

Tap: Deep dark red with an island of foam. Sweet maltiness with slight metallic twinge and dull oatmeal. Rich powdery oatmeal throughout. Tingly. Nice level bitterness. Very rich burnt sugar flavour with lots of nasal honey and a bit o’ boozy fruitiness. Smooth and slick. A bit sugary on the teeth. A little sickly, but well made.

A bit darker than what I’d expect in a red, but color is appealing. Dark and obscure. Strong malt aroma, with toffee. Taste is great...toffee and sweet maltiness, but "soft"....it’s extremely well rounded and mellowed, and a flavor that’s more like a belgian dubbel or scotch ale...in terms of the malt flavor. Hops are understated, but balance perfectly in my opinon. Half ince beige head. Delicious!

Copper/amber pour with off white tight head and lace. Sweet malt with almost a cherry fruitiness. Sweet malt flavor with a light bitter finish. Good carbonation but a tad thin.

My Million Beer March Tasting. Sample from a bottle shared by me thanks to Cletus. Clear red-orange with a thin off white head. Simple sweet malty aroma, nutty caramel. Taste is nutty caramel malt sweetness. Bready.

Slightly cloudy reddish amber, and a ring of foam. Bready, toasty, caramel aroma. Flavor is not as sweet as the aroma indicates, but still a lot of caramel and maybe some vanilla. Dryish finish.

draft at black bear saloon poured a red colored with a thin off white head. aroma has brown malt, bitter hops, and some minerals. mouth feel is medium and the carbonation fairly low. flavor has a nice earthy brown malt with decent bitterness. definitely better warmed up a bit but the mineral flavor was still there. I know this was a fresh keg that had just arrived for st. patty’s day.

12oz bottle. Pours reddish brown color, thin white head. Rich malted aroma. Flavor is a dry malt character, nice caramel malts. Finishes with a bold American hop bitterness. Very bitter in the finish. Dry body, not much sweetness to it. Dry, bitter, and chewy, Yum. Finishes more like a bitter Pale ale than a malted Irish Ale.

Pours a deep amber. Smells of deep amber if anyone even knows what that smells like. You get a mouth of rich malts with a small dose of hoppiness. Quite balanced and tasty.
