Commercial Description:
This traditional red ale gets its unique color from an interesting blend of pale, caramel and roasted malts which promote a sweetness that’s then balanced with crisp, authentic English-style hops. A very unique and drinkable red that’s also favored by amber-lovers. And not only on St.Paddy’s day, but the other 364 days of the year as well.

Pours a deep amber. Smells of deep amber if anyone even knows what that smells like. You get a mouth of rich malts with a small dose of hoppiness. Quite balanced and tasty.

The aroma is malty with caramel and grassy hops. The appearance is deep amber with a small but nice head. The flavor is like the aroma. Its simple but quite effective. The palate is smooth. Overall this is a pretty good beer.

Pours amber red into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Sour pit fruit and hop aromas. Smooth and creamy upfront with dark pit fruits turning spritzy and sharp in the caramel and hop resin finish.

This pours a little bit of a cloudy dark copper color with a big, almost tan head. The head leaves a ton of nice looking lacing around the glass. The aroma is mostly of malt, with notes of caramel and veggies. The body is fairly heavy, as this beer really sits in the stomach and fills you up quickly. The flavors are pretty well balanced, with a sweet maltiness and bready flavors combined with a decent touch of grass and hops. The finish is smooth with a touch of cream and caramel. This really isn’t a beer that I would order if faced with a choice, but it’s fairly enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle from JJPM74, thanks John! A nice deep burnt red with a creamy off white foamy cap. Nose is very malt forward, lots of nutty and tofee notes...a bit of vanilla and molasses. Some dark fruit. Sweet, earthy, nutty malts with good caramel backbone. A bit of sharp hops tries to balance the swetness, but it doesn’t work. A bit too sweet but the flavours are good for the most part. Creamy, and overall pretty good.

12oz bottle, very nicely hopped. Pours brown with not too much caramel overtones which some irish reds over due. Only of my favorite representations of the style to date.

(Bottle). Aroma sweet and malty, some toffee. Reddish amber color with light tan head. Tastes mild, mostly malty and semi-sweet toffee, with low carbonation. Finish is a little cloying. Overall, pleasant enough.
