Commercial Description:
This traditional red ale gets its unique color from an interesting blend of pale, caramel and roasted malts which promote a sweetness that’s then balanced with crisp, authentic English-style hops. A very unique and drinkable red that’s also favored by amber-lovers. And not only on St.Paddy’s day, but the other 364 days of the year as well.

Bottle. Aroma of vanilla, malt, and some light fruit. Palate is creamy, and lightly carbonated. Color is strawberry red. I must say, I did not care for this. I was expecting something rather unique, what I got was an over-sweet brew with little complexity. Any discernable flavors were washed out by a pervading sugar-artificial strawberry fruit flavor. Not recommended.

Pours a four finger cream head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Clear mahogany color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty nose. Flavor is like a neutral caramel not sweet not bitter. $1.80 for a 12oz bottle from Yankee Spirits South Attleboro, Ma.

Bottle. Pours an amber/brown with a light tan head. Aroma of sweet toasted malt. Flavor of bitter hops, burnt toast, an odd mustyness. Weak palate. Sort of like an ESB to me with all the toast flavors. Just ok, decent. Lots of sweet/burnt malt.

Very sweet aroma, caramelly tasting, very little bitterness at all. I’m proud to say that this is brewed in my home state! Excellent beer!

Pours ruby brown with no head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Caramel with malts on the palate. Well done Irish Red.

A great session Irish Red ale; slightly sweet, easy drinking, classic to the style. Another fine beer from Thomas Hooker.

Pours reddish-brown, darker color than a typical Irish Red. Light tan head hangs around. Smells sweet, malty. Tastes full with some nutty accents, sweet malt. Finishes clean and easy to drink.

Tasting at EABF. Deep red color with an off white head. Caramel malt flavor with some red fruit in there as well. English hops by nature are very muted for me and so it is in this one as well. Nice flavors but nothing too impressive or extraordinary.
