riversideAK (1456), Shoreline, Washington, USA May 4, 2008 Bottle from jjpm74. Thanks John! Pours a dark auburn with a thin white head. Aroma of toffee and toasted malts. Tart crisp hops followed by toasted malts, light roasted malts and toffee make up the flavor. Finishes rather light and pretty clean with perhaps a touch of lingering toast/roast. Not complex, but not unpleasant. There just isn’t much going on.
alobar (580), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours ruby brown with no head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Caramel with malts on the palate. Well done Irish Red. DeadGuyFrank (316), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Jun 21, 2008 A great session Irish Red ale; slightly sweet, easy drinking, classic to the style. Another fine beer from Thomas Hooker. docsteigs (123), USA Jun 6, 2008 Pours reddish-brown, darker color than a typical Irish Red. Light tan head hangs around. Smells sweet, malty. Tastes full with some nutty accents, sweet malt. Finishes clean and easy to drink. jrob_21 (822), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 31, 2008 Tasting at EABF. Deep red color with an off white head. Caramel malt flavor with some red fruit in there as well. English hops by nature are very muted for me and so it is in this one as well. Nice flavors but nothing too impressive or extraordinary. BREWMUSKCLES (728), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA May 16, 2008 i guess barely into the 7 catagory in flavor. merit from a clean array of tastes that include caramel malt and a modest (as is the style) yet substantive (for the style) hop character. rather good for an irish amber. a bit sweet but i suppose the hop character that fades after some sips it what impressed me.
