brewed for ALL Max restaurants, max burger, max-a-mia, max’s downtown, etc. somewhat bland, middle of the road IPA, not much better than Hooker Hopmeadow IPA, not terrible but not great.

Brewed exclusively for Max’s Downtown. Pours amber with a thin off white head. Tastes and smells of resin and caramel with some stickiness on the finish. I doubt this is a lager since Thomas Hooker makes ales almost exclusively. Probably an IPA or APA.

On tap at Max Downtown in Hartford. Poured a dark amber/mahogany with a fizzy off-white head. Light aroma of some pine hoppiness and some sweet malt. Flavor is dry with piney hops and a touch of caramel sweetness. Somewhat one-dimensional but inoffensive.

Only available on draft at Max Burger West Hartford, CT. Pours anice tea color with a slight burnt orange/red tint. Aroma consists of sweet malts and caramel reminds me of fall. Flavor is burnt and sweet malts, caramel and corn. Tastes like a slightly altered version of Hooker Irish Red. Almost like a blend of Hooker Irish Red and something else.
