The aroma is malty with a hint of citrus mainly oranges. The flavor contains a hint of citrus and caramel. The aftertaste is somewhat dry with a little bit of sweetness. Good one for this pretty unimpressive style. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Bright copper appearance with an off white sticky head with good lacing. Aroma has some brief ripening vegetable notes and a bit of molasses. Flavor is somewhat sweet with some trailing nuttiness, hints of ripe vegetables and a hint of caramel. Finish is just a bit off though, turns slighlty metallic. Oakes (8093), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Bright brick orange colour. The aroma is earthy, caramelly with hints of toffee. Very flavourful malt character - smokey, toffeeish and earthy, with some spicy hop in there as well. Vibrant, lively example leans towards rusticity over cleanliness, but for me that’s a good thing in this style. It fits so well with wet leaves and wood fireplaces and that makes it a great beer for October. OldGrowth (1426), North Carolina, USA

Clean orangy red color, good head that faded to a hazy cover. Sweet flavor, like aroma with little pepper. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, sweet & sour finish. Good lager (to me) No wonder Paul got a medal for this one. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Clear, deep caramel brown in color with a foamy, mossy and 1/3" tan head. Aroma takes on Hallertau, maple, chestnuts, roasty pecans, pumpernickel dinner rolls, sweet caramel and a side note of scotch. Dimpled mug hits my lips and I breath a huge sigh of relief - this is an Oktoberfest done right. Sweet caramel and toffee chew nature met with a caramelized pecan profile. Buttery spiciness. Lovely and medium bodied with life and backbone. Balance is impeccable, with carbonation, malts and nobles in perfect format. Finish is like sucking on glazed almonds. One of the best Oktoberfests - both foreign or domestic - hands down. Thanks for the bottle CaptainCougar! CaptainCougar (5493), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Pours a deep copper amber with a large-bubbled, frothy off-white head. Aroma has some sweet grainy vienna maltiness and an authentic noble hoppy balance. Starts with some mild sweet caramel malt turning more dry and bitter toward a sticky, sugary bittersweet finish. This could use some more balance and smoother taste, but otherwise a decent oktoberfest. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Good malt aroma.
Clean, malty and well balanced with no hops as it should be. Clean and medium bodied. Decent Oktoberfest. Odeed (1675), Bakersfield, California, USA
