Commercial Description:
Originally brewed to celebrate the beginning of the German brewing season and the 1810 wedding of crown prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his bride-to-be, princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. This amber beer was brewed in March ("Marzenbier") and left to age in cool lagering caves during the heat of the summer. Our rich and satisfying Bavarian-style OctoberFest comes from a special blend of imported German malts that creates a full-bodied brew and stresses a malty flavor and lingering aroma. Gently hopped and delicately balanced, its true-to-style, slow fermentation and long, cold maturation produces a luxuriously smooth, award-winning brew.

12 oz bottle, pours a nice deep golden amber color, minimal head. Aroma not very prominent, a little sweet and malty with a little vegetable noticeable. Flavor was very agreeable- sweet but not too sweet with a hint of bitterness and some doughyness. Palate was full and not rough at all. Great beer.

Bottle… Pours crystal clear and burnt-orange with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose is malty and vinous with notes of caramel, brown sugar and crusted port. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. Malty, caramely flavor – leans only a dab toward the sweet side of balance. Crisp, fairly clean, lightly minerally finish.

12oz Bottle, purchased at Wakefield Liquors - Wakefield, RI. Aroma is a nice, deep cheerio-filled malt, chewy and caramelized. Signature marzen nose. Candy apple sweetness. Pours a rather dark bronzed orange, clearish with a minimal off-white head. Flavor is solid. Nice deep malt character, balanced with alcohols, lagering crispness and a light edge of hops. Very drinkable. The characters in this beer really carry and hold, flaming into the nostrils. Rich and delicate. A solid, delicious oktoberfest. It is a little wet and sticky in the finish, with some slightly off-malt character ringing metallic and musty.

Dark amber. White/off white head. Great malt flavor here- cookie, biscuit, caramel, spent grains. Earthy and lightly bitter hops. Clean finish is on the drier side. I’d like a bit more hop presence to balance. Medium to medium/full body, moderate carbonation, smooth. Just a bit more hops and this would be a great food beer, still pretty good though.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small off white head. Aroma is heavy on the malt with a hint of caramel. Pretty average palate, not much to discuss. Flavor is slightly on the sweet side. Primary taste being malt with a bit of hop in the finish. Nice easy drinking beer.

Quickly descending head and a brownish amber body. Nice malty aroma. Taste has some nice hops right at the front and a mouthfeel without a hitch. Nice caramel malts throughout. Overall, this is a pretty good Oktoberfest.... Hooker has pleased me once again!

Bottle and so far the best of the Oktoberfests I have had this year. Nice rich amber pour. White head. Sweet malty aroma with some notes of fruit and caramel. Flavor hits you with an initial sweetness and then fades to a well balanced bitterness. Malt bill is nice. well balanced and very drinkable.
