Commercial Description:
Originally brewed to celebrate the beginning of the German brewing season and the 1810 wedding of crown prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his bride-to-be, princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. This amber beer was brewed in March ("Marzenbier") and left to age in cool lagering caves during the heat of the summer. Our rich and satisfying Bavarian-style OctoberFest comes from a special blend of imported German malts that creates a full-bodied brew and stresses a malty flavor and lingering aroma. Gently hopped and delicately balanced, its true-to-style, slow fermentation and long, cold maturation produces a luxuriously smooth, award-winning brew.

Bottle and so far the best of the Oktoberfests I have had this year. Nice rich amber pour. White head. Sweet malty aroma with some notes of fruit and caramel. Flavor hits you with an initial sweetness and then fades to a well balanced bitterness. Malt bill is nice. well balanced and very drinkable.

Heavy notes of malt syrup complimented by hops in this red brown pour. It has a nice even hop flavor with just the right amount of bitterness. The finish is a little metallic though.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of grass, malts, hops, bread, and a hint of caramel. Poured orange/amber in color with a small beige head that disappeared quickly. Clear. Slightly sparkling. A few small particles. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of grass, hops, malts, and light caramel. Medium body. Dryish texture. Average carbonation. Slightly caramel sweet, dry malty finish.

(Bottle from McKean and Charles) Pours darkish coppery amber with two fingers of off white head. Aroma of vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth but a touch pebbly. Medium heft. Flavor of light caramel and perhaps a touch of vanilla. Light bitter bite in finish. Frankly kind of bland but a decent beer.

Tap @ Sierra. Nice darker red orange, smooth malty and light hops. Not overly complex but was better than Sam.

Bottle. Pours a bold crimson with a small cream head. Aroma of maple syrup, malt, and some light hops. Flavor features some roastiness, caramel malt, and biscuit. A nice adaptation of an Octoberfest.

pours a cloudy brown with a subtle offwhite head. pungent aroma, molasses, caramel malt presence, very earthy, little smidgen of hops on the nose. Mouthful of caramel, sweet maltiness. Nice aftertaste, improves with warmth. Very nice offering

hazy brown pour with ok head. Aroma is quite nice, with malt, caramel, molasses, brown sugar. Flavor is nice, with some definite spice notes along with similarity to the aroma. Mouthfeel is light but pleasant, quite drinkable. Good brew.
