Commercial Description:
Originally brewed to celebrate the beginning of the German brewing season and the 1810 wedding of crown prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his bride-to-be, princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. This amber beer was brewed in March ("Marzenbier") and left to age in cool lagering caves during the heat of the summer. Our rich and satisfying Bavarian-style OctoberFest comes from a special blend of imported German malts that creates a full-bodied brew and stresses a malty flavor and lingering aroma. Gently hopped and delicately balanced, its true-to-style, slow fermentation and long, cold maturation produces a luxuriously smooth, award-winning brew.

Pours deep amber into a Shaker. Off-white head quickly subsides. Mild malt aromas. A little thin with light caramel. No finish.

I had this at an Oktoberfest horizontal at a friends house. Metalic hop flavor and armoa, amber color but fizzy. No lager flavor and too hoppy for the style. I was not impressed with this beer.

Fruity malt aroma with hints of grain. Clear dark orange color with a medium white head. Caramel and fruity malt taste that lingers. Sticky palate.

Draft. Pours a deep red with orange highlights. It has a thin, tan head made up of big (though not quite soapy) bubbles. The aroma is light, consisting of bready malts and toast. The flavor is light (though not quite delicate). It tastes grainy with some sweet malts and a considerable amount of caramel. It is well-balanced with spicy hops. The mouthfeel stings the tongue with carbonation (a touch too much). The beer feels quite heavy and full-bodied on the tongue, especially considering how light the flavor is. Overall, a decent session beer, but - honestly - a little disappointing.

Bright ruby red(when held up to light), aroma is slightly of alcohol, and caramel malt. Flavor has slightly noticeable alcohol, pretty malty, lightly roasted flavor. Little thinner bodied than expected, but not necessarily bad for this one. Medium bitterness, a little much for an octoberfest.

12oz brown bottle from Florian’s in Auburn. Translucent Brown-red body with a thin light tan head. Smells slightly of caramel malt with hints of chocolate. Tastes like roasty caramel malt, sweet, with a fairly clean finish. Medium bodied with a bit of an aqueous quality to it, perhaps enhanced by the clean finish. A fair bit of carbonation but not overwhelming. Not bad. Very drinkable, and doesn’t leave much flavor afterward.
