Commercial Description:
Originally brewed to celebrate the beginning of the German brewing season and the 1810 wedding of crown prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his bride-to-be, princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. This amber beer was brewed in March ("Marzenbier") and left to age in cool lagering caves during the heat of the summer. Our rich and satisfying Bavarian-style OctoberFest comes from a special blend of imported German malts that creates a full-bodied brew and stresses a malty flavor and lingering aroma. Gently hopped and delicately balanced, its true-to-style, slow fermentation and long, cold maturation produces a luxuriously smooth, award-winning brew.

Had a pint of this at the roadhouse to start off my night. Murky light color and fairly light sweet malt flavor with the touch of hops. Was knocked back pretty quick and would make a decent beer to enjoy throughout a night

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a white head. Sweet and dry brew. Nutty, with toasted bread notes, caramel sweetness, and a light fruit y ester sweetness. Decent lager.

Draft. Pours amber orange with a thin head. Light aroma with some sweet and toasty malt. The flavor has the same sweet/toasty malt profile with a little bit of an earthy/grainy presence. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malts and perhaps a slight amount of spice. Flavor is very malty, slight spice, and a caramel - syrup finish. Thick and tasty.

Pretty light and dry Oktoberfest. Pumpernickel and hops. Not that impressive, but certainly drinkable and sessionable.

Murky amber color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, grain, and some caramel. Reasonably rich flavor of malts, caramel, and hint of hops. One of the better in this style that I’ve tried.

Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep amber pour. The nose is lightly sweet and a little bit musty. There is a lot of caramel malt sweetness and a distinct toffeeish aroma that forbodes something sweet. Lots of diacetyl and malt. Bleh… way too sweet and chewy to even be called Oktoberfest.

Tap somewhere. Very wet, tart, vegetal aroma, with drain cleaner rounding out the mess. Very cooling, refreshing flavor, mild, metallic, and wholly uninteresting.
