Lasting head of cream color, then decent retention. Aroma is dry fruits, notably grapefruit, with enough noticeable malt to make it appealing, definitely still in the new school of American barleywines. Flavor is very hoppy but quaffable. Malt is lingering and roasty, additions of cookies and sweet toffee. Nice subtle and long finish. Tasty. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 7, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Hazy and opaque reddish brown almost without any head. - not your typical Barley Wine look. Odd, unclean aroma - some dried fruit perhaps. Quite full-bodied with accents of roasted malt and dried fruit - perhaps some plums. A bitter finish. Quite inharmonious. 011206
