On tap at the brewery. Looks good in the glass. Smoky aroma. Tastes modest malty, not too strong. Finish a little bit washy. A good beer.

on tap at the brauhaus in early november. the quality of beer at this place seems to have gone downhill a bit in the last few years but at least they’ve tried to brew something ambitious. leaf crud murky brown with a light brown head. a hint of ham in the aroma but if i didn’t know it was a rauchbier i’m not sure i would have noticed. lightly tarry, choc syrup, actually quite bitter. the least rauchy rauchbier i’ve tried but drinkable i guess
