Brown-colored with a slowly-diminishing small beige head. Aroma of malt, quite roasty, with coffee and maybe light vanilla notes. Sweetish flavor with roasted malt, coffee with milk, caramel and some light dryness. Medium-bodied. Quite tasty. kappldav123 (1840), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 22, 2007 On tap at the brewery. A little bit too light for a dunkel, I think. Not as malty as exspected. In the end really washy. An average beer. larsga (2959), Oslo, Norway

Sugary earthy licorice aroma with peppery notes. Dry slightly acidic (uh? what? acidic?) peppery taste, slightly soapy. Dry papery peppery acid aftertaste. Seems to be a little infected. I’ll rerate when I can. (0.3l draft at the brewpub.) EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 15, 2006 Draught at da pub. Creamy tan head, cloudy dark brown liquid. Smells lightly malty, definitely roasted malts and potentially smoked malts. Taste is thin, roasted malts and coffee, long, smooth, dark asftertaste. Dry. More of a Schwarz than a Dunkel Needs to be more assertive to convince me. Overall, nothing thrilling, but made up for the greasy pizza. rpattinson (83), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 8, 2006 This is actually a Schwarzbier in style, not a Dunkles.
Hop and margarine aroma; bitterish taste with hop, basil and herbal aromas; bitter finish with liquorice, hop and citrus aromas.
A reasonable dry, dark lager in the Schwarzbier style. It has a very strong herbal hop flavour that just doesn’t get too much. Much better than the pils. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark
