What initially strikes me is the amazing malt nose on this, roast coffee, chocolate...amazing! If i’m not after hops this is the beer i’d drink regularly, emminently drinkable and massively flavourful.

Clear tawny with a beige collar resloving to a slick. Bags of fresh biscuity character; cherry, citrus, husky bitter linger. Fresh tangy sessions with soapy licks. Not enough syrup or sweetness to qualify as a brown ale- just a plain old English bitter to me, except a very good one. Up to the usual standards. DJMonarch (6845), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Served in absolutely sparkling form. A gorgeous orange brown colour, nice and clean, no head but no worries, there’s plenty of life in it. Superb balance in the aroma, bitter citric hops and amazing bready malt. Flavour is the same. Awesome bitter finish. So drinkable, perfectly balanced. A bloody masterclass in bitter. Very nutty flavour and possible hint of diacetyl. But light on the finish. Would like to re-rate when I get a chance.
