500 ml bottle, Green Hopped IPA 2008 Harvest. Best by December 2009. Cloudy olive yellow with a fluffy white head. Nose is caramel, pineapple, marshmallow and melon. Creamy medium body with vibrant carb. Doughy and resiny. Taste is honeydew and candied lemon peel becoming dry with a smooth piny bitterness.

Cask @ The White Horse, Parsons Green, London SW6. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a hoppy bitter grapefruit aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a warming malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Dark golden with a small white head. Intensely hoppy aroma of pine and citrus. Sweet and fruity flavour with lots of hop character, strong alcohol, strong bitterness and a lasting aftertaste of pine needles

Thornbridge Halcyon Bottled A hazy golden coloured beer with a large white head demanding extra pours into a pint glass. Massive hops and bitterness throughout but enough body to balance out and mean it never feels harsh. Not sure the choice of hops is spot on. Seems a bit too resinous and in need of a bit of citricity, but that’s just a personal thought really as this is a well crafted beer. If there were more of this I’d hit it.

Not as awesome as the green-hopped version but still a wondrous IPA; exceptionally well-balanced considering the massive amount of hops, great flavours and far too drinkable for 7.7%.

A Mes rate. Bottle from the Bottle Stop.
Semi hazy orange gold with a very impressive white head that leaves sumptuous chunky lacing. Fresh and piney snout with some full on citrus and faint cardboard with some typical Thornbridge sweetish malt in the background. The flavour is more of the same. So resinous, it’s boardering on sticky. Amazing hoppage that, unless you are a real hop head, will surely be too much. It’s almost like chewing on ginger. Glorious stinging bitter finish. A real hop fest.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a cloudy and almost opaque golden with a rough off-white head. Citrusy hops in the nose. Medium body, fruity with a little phenols and a distinct, lightly astringent hoppy finish. 240709
