| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Thornbridge Halcyon Bottled A hazy golden coloured beer with a large white head demanding extra pours into a pint glass. Massive hops and bitterness throughout but enough body to balance out and mean it never feels harsh. Not sure the choice of hops is spot on. Seems a bit too resinous and in need of a bit of citricity, but that’s just a personal thought really as this is a well crafted beer. If there were more of this I’d hit it.

Semi hazy orange gold with a very impressive white head that leaves sumptuous chunky lacing. Fresh and piney snout with some full on citrus and faint cardboard with some typical Thornbridge sweetish malt in the background. The flavour is more of the same. So resinous, it’s boardering on sticky. Amazing hoppage that, unless you are a real hop head, will surely be too much. It’s almost like chewing on ginger. Glorious stinging bitter finish. A real hop fest. fonefan (11885), VestJylland, Denmark
