SilkTork (3949), Rochester, Kent, England Mar 9, 2006 Dover Beer Fest, 2006. Stunningly beautiful. Juicy, sweet, soft, flavoursome. A thoroughly enjoyable beer - dark and delicious with plenty of interesting twists and turns. A rare moment of pure pleasure. TroughMonkey (6), England does not count Sep 3, 2006 A fantastic stout with a dangerously drinkable quality. Beautiful black mahogany in colour, a mouth watering fruity nose which follows thru onto the palate with rich roast maltiness, dark chocolate bitterness, liquorice, smoke, tar and a surprisingly light mouth feel for 7.7%. The intensely mouth watering flavours are crying out for accompanying food, which is advisable given it’s unique quaffable character/strength combination harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Feb 10, 2006 Cask gravity at Dover Beer Festival 2006. SilkTork thought that this was a 5/5. Yes it was good, but not perfect. Black with beige lasting head. Very nice imperial stout aroma, lots of intense dark malt. Very good in mouth and slightly syrupy, but not cloying. Finish has good light and dark components. labologist (55), Bramhall, England Aug 15, 2006 Draught. A deep red/black coloured Imperial stout. Smokey roasted malt aromas, a fruity/malty flavour with a hint of bitter chocolate, a long dry finish, dry from roasted malt not over hopped. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Mar 1, 2006 Cask @ Dover Festival 06: Warming, yet soft. Bitter sweet chocolate. Caramel, toffee, roast grain. Sweet & Sour berries. Ruby black with a lasting tan head. Tasty stuff.
