Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2009. Pretty dull stuff. Pale yellow, no head. Aroma and taste of cheap apple juice and fusel alcohol, unpleasantly sweet in the flavour, maybe a little white plonk thrown in to appeal to the discerning bumcider fan. Watery, slightly boozy, some harsh acidity - cheap and the only saving grace is it’s not carbonated up the yin-yang like most other cheap ciders.

On cask at Volo Cask days: Appearance: Water, slight, slight yellow with no head. Aroma: Okay - let me pre-empt this by saying that I asked at least 4 or 5 people about the aroma... sewage. Yes, sewage, smelled like sulphur, eggs and diapers. Flavour: Mild apple skins, the flavour is fine but just overpowered by the aroma.

[2074-20090403] Tap. Petrol-spattered apple skins and mild floral sugar aroma. Clear, super light yellow body with no head. Sweet toasted apples flavour with a long sweet finish. Light body. Refreshing.

Draught @ Volo: Came light, clear yellow with no head, no carbonation; very much a white wine appearance. Aroma is granny smith apples, slight sour fruit. Lots of apple in the flavour, extremely reminiscent of a dry white wine. A step up from your local generic can of cider, but not my thing.

2009-04-03. Very very pale yellow body. Flavour is dry tart apples up front, sweet muted apples in the middle. Very nice apple notes alternate with a rougher dry generic white wine like quality. (6+) Aroma is mild generic fruit, mild touches of apples. Average palate. Decent pub cider but just okay. On tap at Volo

(Draught) Sampled at the Black Tomato on August 24, 2008. Pours a slightly cloudy, light golden boy with a very dry white wine nose. Flavour is dry, grape with a mild apple vinegar body. Fairly plain to my palate but hopefully we’ll see more from this Ontario cidery. God knows the province needs more of them...
