downender (1612), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Sep 14, 2008 Cask-conditioned at The Royal Oak, Bath 14/9/08. Deep bronze in colour, with a slight off-white head. Bready malt aroma with a touch of fruit. Flavour started sweet before the malt took over again with a big bitter finish. Good. Rune (1809), Tromsø, Norway Mar 26, 2008 Half handpulled at Lamb & Flag in Oxford. Dark brown body with good clarity over a low, white head. Malty aroma with a caramel profile. Brush of earthy and floral hops in flavour supported by traces of malts and balancing bitterness to the finish. Low carbonation. Medium palate and good to drink (16.03.2008)
