It was quite good, though it probably scores some extra points because of the atmosphere of the day. Philip (436), Illinois, USA

Great to see this one around for the festivities. I don’t quite see how "borders on IPA," to me, its clearly in the category. Regardless, there’s an assertive hop presence on the nose and more of the same on the palate. Some ginger and coriander followed by the grapefruit and pine notes. If you’re an IPA drinker, this is wonderful stuff. Clearly well-crafted, but I have a hard time finding much here other than a lot of hops. railcat1 (582), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. I don’t detect much in the way of the "light spices" but I do detect big hops. Comes across as Alpha Kings brooding older brother. Solid brew but Alpha King still kicks its ass. notalush (2681), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2006 Quite an interesting IPA - instead of the usual, strong citrus flavor, one is treated to some strawberry and even cherry, and then some background sweetened grapefruit and orange - hops? you bet - but never becomes overpoweringly bitter - refreshing and full-flavored, which is hard to pull off. egajdzis (3631), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of pine, citrus fruits, floral hops, orange peel, and rose petals. Taste of citrus fruits, herbal spices, sweet bubblegum, and a medium, bitter grapefruit finish. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 4, 2006 This beer introduces itself with an aroma consisting of hops, malt, pine, and citrus fruit. The glass is filled with an amber solution that resides under a thick cashew colored head. The mouth is perked to attention with the flavors offered in this beer. There is a strong hops that presence tingles with a vigorous intervention of pine. The beer flows down the throat leaving a nice robust citrus pine hops taste lingering long after the swallow. I couldn’t get enough of this beer! I held my friends up, who wanted to stop by Flossmoor on the way home, by always going back and getting another glass of this sensational solution of suds. Flossmoor didn’t matter anyway because my taste buds were blown.
