Surprisingly dark amber pour with a cream colored head. Piney hops dominate the aroma of coarse, but some malt also. Taste has some nice caramel covered apple, citrus and the hops. Smooth mouthfeel, just enough carbonation, hand pull helps this of coarse. Finish is not overly bitter. Not a frequenter of pales, but this is the best American pale I’ve had. Three Floyds hop heavy style obviously works well with this. Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Brand new bottle with its glossy label. Pours a mahogany body with a yellow white head. Dry dingy malt character, a bit soapy with some floral hoppiness and caramel malt bill. This was better fresher. oh well. Beardface (1034), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 27, 2009 12 oz bottle acquired via trade. A much darker amber pour than I expected, with a thin white head. Aroma is citrus hop with sweet caramel malt. Flavor is initially some light caramel malt, then a hop explosion of citrus, floral and pine, and it’s very bitter at the end, but in a pleasant way. The mouthfeel is very full, this almost resembles an ESB in some ways honestly. Incredibly tasty brew, and I can’t wait to have more from 3F. bobbypaulson (100), , Minnesota, USA

Nose is dominated by hoppy grapefruit and pine notes. Medium bodied, slightly oily with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet caramel malt with grassy hop notes with almost a cider feel. Finishes sweet and slightly bitter. Big thanks to cexshun and bulldogp04 for sending these! ajbitt (46), , Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2009 Aroma: mild, slightly sweet malts, flowers. butter, caramel. Appearance: translucent, light golden amber, thin white head. Flavor: light malt, minimal bitterness, creamy, light caramel. Palate: smooth, soft, creamy, slow fade finish. Overall: a nice creamy, soft beer with a nice balance of subtle malts and slight bitterness. Used to much heavier styles (I’m a huge barleywine fan) so the subtleties of this beer may have been lost on me.... Madsnp (627), Odense C, Denmark
