Pours grapefruit colored with a bubbly white head. Rather sweet nose of zesty citrus, some faint malt and honey, light leaf qualities and spice. Flavor is a little more plain, bitter hop pine and grapefruit thrown in with a lot of sugar. Palate is a little flat. Very sessionable stuff, if a little straightforward.

Bottle from Archer Liquors. Copper color with a large beige head that collapsed with a bit of lace. Huge citrus/cat pee aroma. Can’t even smell malt. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mildly citric hop over some light malt. But that doesn’t mean it’s not hoppy. There’s a lot of florality. I think this is one of those fresh hop beers, and I think this bottle must be rather fresh. Really hops the mouth. Great mouthfeel.

Had this on tap at Three Floyds in Munster, IN. Best pale ale I’ve had - "Alpha King" drink this any day of the week. Great golden-amber color. Great aroma of incredible citrusy C-hops and sweet pale malt. Same on the taste - hops have piney and grapefruity character and are just "pha king" great. Medium body and lively palate. I think "Alpha King" give this a "pha king" awesome rating.

Given all the hype on this beer I went in with an open mind and I was very impressed. This is almost a perfect IPA in my opinion. The beer poured amber with a lively carbonation and a two-finger head. There was a beautiful hop aroma of citrus, grapefruit. The beer tasted of hops without an overwhelming bitterness associated with it. Just an awesome melding of hop and malt flavors as the beer warms, an awesome balance to this beer. For an IPA lover...this is it.

12oz bottle from archer liquors poured into a pint glass. *updated with a fresh bottle from DLD ’09* pours a very pleasing yet slightly cloudy copper/ruby color with a thin white head and good lacing. aroma is best described as pure, extremely fresh hops with subtle notes of orange, lemon rind, grapefruit, and sweet apricots and peaches with a background of caramel and nutty sweetness. flavor was simply delicious. lovely hoppy bitterness and citrus up front with flavors of orange peel, lime, and grapefruit, with subtle peach and cherry notes. perfectly balanced with a malt bitterness and nutty flavors of walnut and pecan and a long, dry, floral hop finish. palate was very smooth with great carbonation. overall, the best APA i’ve tasted and a finely crafted, well balanced beer that is incredible when fresh.

Bottled. Pours a clear bronze colour with a thin white head that dissolves quickly. Big aroma of pine and spruce hops. Wow much more malt than expected in the flavour and great balance with the bitter hop finish. This is a phenomenal APA and I would gladly purchase again.
