This just smells like a bag of fresh hops, some citrus, some floral notes. But mostly like when I open a bag of Cenntennial hops when I am homebrewing. This looks nice as well a very clear but attractive amber color with a big rocky head that sticks around and leaves plenty of lace. The flavor is even more complex than I remember it being! Plenty of citrus, but not just grapefruit there is some orange in there as well. There is a remarkable fruitiness abou tthis and although it is one of the hoppiest non-india pale ales I have ever had, the hoppiness balances with a beautiful maltiness. I’m not much of a pale ale guy, but this beer is fantastic. Gold/red color, nice hoppy aroma, but the hops are balanced on taste and don’t rip your head off. Best pale ale I’ve ever had, and its not even close. aaronphazel (16), Missouri, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice clear copper body with a soft off white head. Nose is full of sweet caramel malts and toasted nuts, with deeper notes of citrus peel and grapefruit coming in later. Really a velvety feel on the palate with the strong malty body letting the sweetness gently settle on the tongue. The flavor rush is very floral and light with lots of orange and lime peel along with a toasted nutty background flavor. Maybe candied pecans. Delightful. GJF (510), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA

Glad I was able to stumble across some in Iowa (I think it was an accident it showed up in the local store). Rich hoppy aroma, thick chewy body, nice malt backbone with a creamy piney hoppiness. All around wonderful. joshwilfong (795), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Poured orange red amber, with white head, and very clear - nice. The aroma is all HOPS. The flavor is dominated by hop bitterness with some malt backbone. The palate is normal - not thin or thick or particularly interesting. Overall this is a very fine beer, but I feel that it is a bit unbalanced toward the hops and could use more hop flavor rather than btiterness as well as some more balancing malts. hrking (111), Muncie, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2008 This is on draft at 2 locations here in town. This is often a warm up beer and pours a red orange with a nice white head. Lots of hops and almost a sweet clover honey finish. This is a hop heads beer for sure so be prepared for a blast of hops. Once you get past the initial hop bite this beer does smooth out and become more drinkable but give it a few wash overs on the palate..Worthy of a try.
