It’s hoppy flavor is amazing. It leaves a great flowering taste on my mouth. I am highly impressed with Alpha King’s pale greatness! FunkyBrewster (507), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 9, 2008 Sweet malty body, nice deep amber color. The hops aren’t as pronounced as some other pale ales. A strong example of a pale ale that doesn’t need an overwhelming hop presence. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 9, 2008 I picked this up today and while it doesn’t have a date on it, the bottle of Gumballhead beside was dated 2003, so it’s a good chance this is also from that year. The hop aroma has mellowed considerably and a sweet malty backbone is showing itself now. Good head with large bubbles. The hop flavor is exceptionaly well balanced. A truly wonderful APA. nimrod (53), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 6, 2008 Bottle poured deep amber, quickly dissapating head, and excellent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, hoppy, some bread, citrus, spice, and some sweet malt. The taste is an amazing balance of the aroma, hops, and smooth aftertaste that leaves your mouth tingling. A definite favorite with the right amount of sweet malt, hops, floural aroma, and piny aftertaste. CaptBier (303), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 4, 2008 Bottle and Tap at FFF. Sweet, strong hop aroma. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Flavor is strong of Centennial hops. Smooth and easy to drink but almost closer to an IPA because of the hop characters. kiefdog (1635), Tampa, Florida, USA
